    Not moaning or complaining about it or anything else. Thought I was just asking a simple question as was not required last time I got a permit as stated.

    More important is why is it for such a short period, why not twelve months ?

    Why not lifetime? I thought 3 months was quite long myself.

    I'm fairly sure it was a 12 month permit when I started hunting about 10 years ago, then they dropped them to 6, then 3.

    The only real reason I can think of is that when you renew it they give updates on poison drops, blocks being temporarily closed etc. But they should be able to just email that info out anyway.

    I receive emails from DOC to do with poison drops in areas I have permits for

    Yes some DOC offices are very proactive at that and some ......well they are not

    The bit i dont understand with all this online stuff is why cant they send us a reminder to say permit is expiring in XYZ time?? Wouldnt be hard

    And I had to enter my age to renew as have done since the online permits have been available.

    It confirms identity, name and DOB is all that is required to identify who you are, its less invasive than asking your FAL number, drivers license, blood type, sexual preference etc....don't even need to know your address, just a general idea of the city/town your in is enough to know who you are.
    Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
