    Ah, dogs in helicopters.
My Jack Russell/Foxie cross loved helicopters. We were hovering in a tight clearing one day where there wasn't quite enough room to land and I jumped out first, letting go of the dog. The next minute I heard the pilot yell, 'get that ffing dog off me.' The dog had jumped up and was licking the pilots face. I used to put him out first after that.

My Ridgeback loves choppers - means we are going hunting! Pilots think I'm crazy - he is on the waybill as "Big Farken Dog" Will try and get into a chopper - doesn't want to get left behind. He calmly sits in the back with me and looks out the window, I always grab him by the collar as one of the pilots told me of a moment someones dog got excited and jumped in the front when the pilot was landing which sounds unnecessarily exciting

Great thread, I am thinking of doing a heli trip into the tararuas this summer, haven’t made up my mind on exact location just yet tho. Will be my dogs first time too. Does anyone know roughly about what it will cost me these days for a return trip in the chopper?
    Cheers

Put in back seat and told to stay. She just looked out the window.
I had a spare set of muffs so I removed top rigid headband and replaced it the elastic top and bottom. Stayed on for the 20 minute flight.

Muffs are a great idea for dogs in aircraft. Love the improvised ones you made Huntertoo. There are also commercially available ones out there https://deltacanine.co.nz/products/mutt-muffs
