    It will be the same in taupo. I also expect a lot of guys will skip the ureweras this year with all the agro happening out that neck of the woods.

    as long as its not the longwoods in southland I dont get to stressed, I get kinda nervous around the roar though. however you couldnt even pay me to go in the longwoods let alone during a long weekend

    If I’ve got time off work and the missus gives the all clear I’ll be out there, if ya scared of the bush just hit tops somewhere..

    Poor choice of word, yep good to be cautious! It does worry me all the camo these days, Take a couple of fluorescent vests to hang on antlers that’s my worry!

    @Howa1500 I hunted the longwoods when i first moved down here, after a couple of hairy moments i stay away from there now. Plenty more places to hunt

    I have experienced two guys rifles ready as a mate and I walked into an old overgrown skid near Titiraupenga.
    My mate was in front.
    My roaring isn't that good either but they must have been impressed.
    A bit disturbing.
    Looking forward to retiring and picking my days.

    I've heard some absolute horror stories aye, with places like monowai, mavora and the taki's id much rather drive the extra 30 min from invers aye
