    fallow hunting access hawke,s bay/wairarapa

Hi, just seeing if anyone on here knows of any fallow hunting opportunities in the hawke,s bay or wairarapa areas? Prefer free range & just a chance to get the odd meat animal, prefer not to pay $100/animal or stuff like that, although happy to dropa land owner a box or bottle of his favorite beverage or a leg or 2, Any info relating to that would be cool cheers

Plenty of DOC land in the Tararua's.
Just need to watch out for the walkers and the steep carryouts.
Most deer here have been pretty heavily hunted, so are more likely to be nocturnal.
    Good luck.

There are no free lunches or easy rides. Do some leg work. There are Fallow on DOC land in both of the areas you have mentioned - talk to DOC - they are not the 2 headed monster they are made out to be. I doubt if any one is going to give you their hard won private access. You have to find it your self.

Agree, (so no sharing on snee road then lol)

Its hard enough to get yourself let alone share it,

Are you not into reds, or are you just wanting private farm access?? Plenty of animals in the DOC estates if you know where to look

Cheers for the input guys, not into gaining anyones hard earned spots as I have my own for sika, reds, and now rusa, I asked DOC first they drew a blank, so I put the feelers out here see if anyone might be able to point me in the right direction, not afraid of doing hard yards steep hills etc I do that all the time, just want to add fallow to my hunting opportunities if I can, nothing ventured nothing gained
