Finally, my first deer, a sambar.

Just letting all of you on the board who have given me advice over the last couple of months that I finally shot a sambar hind. Its been a long process and I've done a few miles in the process. Turns out I stumbled across a few hanging around only 10 mins drive from home! I set a trail cam up and got a few snaps over the previous 3 weeks. Then went out last monday night and shot her just on dark with my brand new ruger american all weather 308. Neck shot, straight down.
I'm stoked about it. Still sore from draging the bits out, they're a big animal!
    So thanks again.
    Cheers
    Brad

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

That really is awesome Brad. What makes it so great is you put the word out that you are new to the game, got some general advise which you paid thanks for and not only was it just around the corner but you did the hard yards first. A sure way to appreciate it more than if it was handed to you on a plate.
    Now, where are the pictures?

Hi everyone, Thanks for the comments. I dont have any pics as it was just on dark when I shot it. I did get a couple of snaps when I went back the next day to dispose of the leftovers. I'll dig them out.
    Cheers everyone.
