Other than bats or marine, like hectors dolphin? what two native land mammals do we have?
they were all introduced and have nothing to do with heritage or identity other than the fact they all from around the world just like we are

You stated mammals not land mammals.

If you cannot see what our introduced animals have done for this country and its identity along with privileges we now enjoy I really can't be bothered.

That's why I asked the question because some of us would like to wait and see a herd get established before we think of hunting them while others would rather take the glory of killing the last one and wipe them out to extinction
    When hunting think safety first

I think I will get it mounted in NZ. My mates one was done here and it is a stunning mount.
I also would like to do a whitetail but will head east for that after the BC hunting season.

Should go for a Mule deer if you get a chance, I'm a bit of a fan of Steve Rinella and was watching an episode of Meateater yesterday where they hunted Muleys, Impressive animals with those Whitetail style heads that come forward from the bases, really pretty animals

    270 is a harmonic divisor number[1]
270 is the fourth number that is divisible by its average integer divisor[2]
270 is a practical number, by the second definition
The sum of the coprime counts for the first 29 integers is 270
270 is a sparsely totient number, the largest integer with 72 as its totient
Given 6 elements, there are 270 square permutations[3]
    10! has 270 divisors
270 is the smallest positive integer that has divisors ending by digits 1, 2, …, 9.

There are apparently plenty of Mulelys where I am working and I will likely have to guide on them, so maybe.

A good moose and whitetail have always been my dream North American species.
A big stone Ram would be next for me.

When I flew for Rusts float plane services off lake hood in Anchorage,we did a lot of moose hunts, always had a guide....my job,fly in and out,....get poo paper, gut fish, pack moose...etc etc......always thought the moose hunts were a bit of a let down,......9x out of 10,you would stalk them, they would just stand there,.....boooom,....1 moose....no,what I call, real hunting abilitys required.......shot several cows myself for the meat,of which there was plenty.......muleys/white tail,....different game all together....Nevertheless,it should be a fun excursion....

@R93 your list is about the same as mine except take out the big stone ram and replace with a Dall sheep!
Guiding be cool so long as you get good clients.
How's your horse riding skills? I here that's the one that pulls up most. What sort of gear do you personally need?
Or should I ask what are you taking? Anything special? Or are you just stopping at Bass Pro on the way up
Himmmmmm Moose almost better than bacon
It's all fun and games till Darthvader comes along
I respect your beliefs but don't impose them on me.

My horse riding skills are pretty much non existent
I am going a month early to sort my horse skills and learn the block and tracks. Next season I will likely head over a month later.
Rigging the horses to carry the kill and trophy are what I am told is most important.

Clients all have to ride so it can't be too bad...
I am only allowed 46kgs on the flight but will be taking mostly the same gear I would use on a Thar hunt here minus a tent and should be under weight all things considered.

I plan to buy a garmin inreach and some minor gear when I get there.
Just ordered some new kuiu gear that will be sent to my brothers place in the next week or so.
The outfitter I am working for has bought me some stuff like boots etc.
I will probably leave a bit of gear there for next season if I accumulate too much.

Happy to teach you how to ride a horse at Rushy's Slap em, watch and laugh ranch. Seriously though, once you have done a thousand hours in the saddle it will be second nature and you will wonder what all the fuss was about.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

I first met my wife while she was on horseback.
I have done some riding but not really what I would call skilled.
