Comments on some pages were way out of line. Talks of bringing down choppers etc. That would be what they’re referring to. The writers were quickly bought back into line, but bullshit comments like that don’t do anyone any favours.
Unethical or not, the pilots and shooters deserve to come home from work in one piece to see their families.

Yip it’s idiotic. Many of those pages and this forum are monitored by DOC security and the police. They have the ability to trace where some comments originate. They take a very dim view of threats against DOC personnel and helicopter companies. Yes big brother is watching!!!

I remember that, its not hunting to chase an animal until its got nowhere to go then shoot it from the chopper.

No, it's just culling, and an effective way to do it. No-one said it was sportsmanly, it's just work. Unfortunately it is also effective at extermining animals, that is, making them extinct.

Look at 14 mins into the video for the dead bones:

Well I just went back to page 1 and started reading this again. Where are these comments that are way out of line and talks of bringing choppers down?

I put a request to the minister under the official information act for

    1. The list of Companies that put a tender in to partake in the Himalayan Tahr culling operation this year?
    2. The list of Companies that have taken part in the culling operation this year?
    3. The hours invoiced by each company that has taken part in the culling operation this year?

It'll be interesting to see what response i get and what information is provided. It should be quite easy to find it you'd think.

They’re referring to comments made elsewhere

Consider the wisdom of Jesus, addressing the uber-religious who would not welcome less respectable people back into fellowship, and think of the first son as a chopper operator mending his ways:

But what do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first one and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’
‘I will not,’ he replied. But later he changed his mind and went.i
Then the man went to the second son and told him the same thing.
‘I will, sir,’ he said. But he did not go.
Which of the two did the will of his father?”
    “The first,” they answered.
Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you. For John came to you in a righteous way and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him."
Extra points for getting prostitutes in to the discussion.
I’ve been vocal in the past over what road helihunting was taking us, but I agree, if we don’t cheer for the guys who publicly state they won’t do this culling work because of their past, no one is going to “change sides”
I’ve got no idea if the Wallis crew did whatever hours already or not but their public statement was a slap in the face for DoC for everyone to see.
It also seemed to get more media attention than tahrjam.

“We are appalled that anyone is threatening to boycott legitimate businesses undertaking important control work that will positively benefit our unique alpine environment and protect Aoraki/Mt Cook and Westland Tai Poutini National Parks for New Zealand’s native species to thrive.” (Ben Reddix-Stuff article)

So saying you will boycott a company and take your business elsewhere is "threatening behaviour". Good luck with that in a Court of Law. It must be having an effect as Helicopter companies are coming out on social media saying they are Not part of the Tahr Cull. Boycotting operators obviously works and all it is, is freedom of choice.

It just shows how out of touch with reality DOC (Ben Redix) really is. So in his belief it is threatening behaviour to tell a company that if they continue to do something you disagree with then you will no longer do any business with them.

This has been the way business works for as long as there have been businesses - you don’t like someone’s ethics, standard of workmanship, where they source raw product from, how they treat their animals (battery hens or crate reared pigs), then you take your business somewhere else.

World wide this has been used as a means to modify business behaviour. This is just another attempt by DOC to discredit people who disagree with their agenda. In this regard, claiming “threatening behaviour” is a means to quell any meaningful discussion that might expose them, in the same way accusing someone of being “racist” is used in this country.

Minister Sage made the accusations of death threats to DOC staff and heli operators in parliament earlier this week during question time.

I haven't read the whole article but here he says "threatening to boycott" So does he say " threatening behaviour" in the article. Since it is a big step between threatening behaviour ( the threat to do bodily harm to someone) and threatening to take your business somewhere else. There is no way he can legitimately say it is a threat to do someone physical harm if that article is the source of any "threat"

Serious threats are screenshot and then removed as soon as they're posted on whatever platform and police informed.
If you are in denial that these threats have taken place because you haven't seen them maybe you should move to Portland or Chicago as you will fit in well there.
Threats are also delivered by other means.

Kiwibank (which a NZ Govt SOE) are being challenged by MP Shane Jones over threats and actual boycotting of investments in mining and tobacco, military arms manufacture and "other businesses" which kiwibank considers unftiendly to NZ environment. In effect actual threats and boycott policies by a government agency are occurring.
