    First time, Ruahines.

    Hi guys, I'm after recommendations on where to go for a day hunt in the ruahines. Will be my first time, don't care if it's only a walk the first time. Thoughts? Cheers.

    Just about any roadend on either side of the Southern Ruahines will get you into the park. She's busy in there at the moment thou.

    Cheers guys, I thought as much. No disrespect Kidmac. I can get access to some private land out the back of wanganui, might stick to that until the roar is over.

    Only places I have hunted in recent years in Ruahines is around Longview / Daphnie Huts area. We were at Daphine around the roar and we heard quite a few roaring but it's big country and quite steep.
