I have a dislocated floating rib that happened last year, it is sore all day long. Couldnt get treatment because of covid. Had cracked ribs in the past. I would say twelve months to come right.

Dosed my self up, put my big boy pants on and got back into it tonight.
Couldn't get my leg over the quad so rode side saddle
Can walk ok so long as I don't twist. Kept off the steep stuff though and out of the trees. Sniped this Fallow and fortunately could get the quad close. Gingerly dragged it to a bank and rolled it onto the back. Necessity is the mother of invention.

When you get to a certain age there is a pain ball that moves around your body. You never know where its its going to be when you wake-up in the morning
You learn to live with it and to just get on with life.
The worst thing you can do is over think it.

OK - does it hurt to laugh? They (cracked ribs usually do). If so stand by to hurt, I'm gonna pass a story on that hurt me, now it's your turn haha.

35 years ago, I was 25, working in the County office. Getting married on the Saturday. Being cunning I planned to leave to office on Tuesday before, having lead everyone to believe I'd be there till Thursday. Well bugger me, wife to be didn't see why I should escape being "done over" and tipped them off. I saw a suspicious posse approaching my office and made a run for it.

Unfortunately we had a Southland rep flanker working in the office and he dive tackled me as I went down the front steps at high speed. Served the bugger right, he broke his thumb and put him on the sideline for several weeks. Me, I broke a couple of ribs. The wedding was fine, but it severely limited my full enjoyment of the honeymoon, bonking was quite a trial!

Ouch!! Had a few broken bones over the years but busted ribs the most uncomfortable. Got knocked off my E-bike at a roundabout 3-4 years ago - bounced off the fender of a 39 tonne truck. No idea what happened, how I wasn't roadkill, but it did break 10 ribs. Laugh, move, breathe - boy was that painful..

Good luck with the rehab Tahr - don't be stupid (like most of us) and try too much too soon!

OK so you think laughing with cracked ribs is bad.... back at work two days after having vasectomy...plurry butcher had me bruised purple to half way down to my knees... I was working as storeman at the time and had been pottering around on the 3 t forklift happily then slid off seat onto ground as usual...you know the one??? feet drop 6-8" onto the ground as you dismount...yeah fine and dandy but my nuts felt like they dropped the 3 feet down and hit ground too.....I buckled in two, didnt quite hit floor but mate was I clinging for dear life onto side of the machine till the waves of pain subsided...my work mate were rolling around laughing....
