    Forest creek, Sinclair range?

Hi everyone, just wondering if someone could answer a few questions regarding this area was thinking of going up there for a look around.
Is access only up the creek or can you walk over the big flat from the road? Is it not bad travel up the creek what sort of time does it take to get to the hunting block my best guesstimate from google earth is about 10km from the road before you can hunt.
Taking a fella with me that’s never seen a tahr so hopefully will see something. As long as the walk in doesn’t kill him
    Cheers

The big flat is private land - Access is via the riverbed from the road bridge (orange markers) and the river is very rough from recent weather events.

The DOC Hunting block does not start until well after Butlers Creek past the private huts either side (the finger of land on the DOC map is hardy shootable).

Did it in October last year. Went in from Bush stream though. Which is further West than forest creek.

Access is up either of the two riverbeds. Expect a 2-3 hour walk to public access either way. There are tahr there though.

Was in there earlier this year. We used to 4wd in but found it pretty tough on vehicles. Not sure what it's like these days (we didn't go in via the river.). Nice country.
