Sounds like a Forum shoot needs to be arranged I'll be in if a .22 semi is an acceptable tool for the job... I don't have a shotty and the 7WSM is overkill

Unfortunately a semi 22 is not really ideal, you'd be lucky to hit 1 bird before they all scarper and you've the educated a heap of birds that are already cagey to avoid your spread.
the best tool for geese is multiple shooters in layout blinds with a good decoy spread and an experienced caller on the whistle.

Best tool for geese is a heading dog while they're all flappers

Yeah 22s don't quite cut it unfortunately, years ago I used to use ars but as Danny said they quickly learn.
A wall of shot is the way to go

If the organised partie/parties are happy to take extras that will be upto them (more guns the merrier) but it does want to be done properly to be most effective before they are wised up from a bit of shooting . I have spoken with Danny he will be looking at doing a shoot possibly at the end of the month/start of next

Im keen depending on date. Have 40 odd shells, 60 odd silo's and layout blinds. I would suggest about 4 in the heart of a big spread of decoys, and a few others in smaller spreads on other likely paddocks that the geese may head to after being shot at. Done properly 50-100 birds an evening is possible, lots of breasting and salami's.

I'm definitely keen. Shoot with a group of 6-8 us, all have layout blinds and heaps of decoys.
