    Smile Goat hunting near Kaikoura

I'm looking for a place to hunt some Feral Goats near Kaikoura with my son. Any help or suggestion to find a location closer to Kaikoura would be much appreciated.

You have a few secret recipes you use for the goats? Or is it just for sport? I would think there would be plenty of goats on the Public but I really don’t know

Good luck, I have been door knocking for the last couple of winters.... Most places are already being shoot by friends or the farmers have been put off shooters by poachers

So I have heard. I tried to slow cook it without any curry and I didn’t really enjoy it. I also did not hang the meat first. Guess I needed some curry

There was a similar thread 5 years ago, (the forum search function is very useful) advice was check doc boundaries and locals had been made less welcoming od door knocking due to poaching probably no different now but worth a crack.

Hanging vs not! Mate took some goat meat home from a young one we shot where it was cooked that night by his Chinese in-laws and he said it was the tenderest meat he's ever had... said it was cooked on gas in oil and other spices but how ever they cooked it... it came out perfect.
