    I've quite often responded to adds for culling help on the lifestyle block forum and met some great people (and got some great meat). not everyone's out to get you ay.....

    I used to live in ararimu 30 odd years ago when the lifestyle block subdivision was really getting started. Got asked to despatch all kinds of things, turkeys, peacocks, a few alpaca and an ostrich, even a couple of deer that got out of a deer farm. Its a great way to meet interesting people.

    It's a tough day when you have to shoot your own dog, have had to do it when they have taken poison, otherwise it's a mate or vets job.

    Reminds me of mate. Hard bastard. Came in to work looking glum. I asked what was wrong. Said his dog died. I offered my sympathies and asked what happened. He said the dog couldn't be trained, so he shot it!

    There's an unfortunate bit of that about. Mostly it's that people don't know how to train em.

    Bit PC around here now. Lady down the road called the cops on my neighbour for teaching the kids to shoot in there paddock, cops turned up in full kit. I'm outer here this weekend. See ya auckland.

    Still a few deer around. Saw a stag running down a drive way during the roar.

    Shit Bobba your not on Markham road by any chance?? Ha your right about the pockets of deer around, iv got my eye on a stag living in private bush just down the road ill give him another year yet.

    Yeah some of my colleagues are a bit like that. The difference between seeing them as a tool and a pet.
