Before anyone jumps down my throat - in no way do I condone this clowning idiocy
But I think some of you must have lead a fairly sheltered life to not know this sort of crap has been around since Adam was a cowboy (sorry cow person)

I will give you an example or the mentality that surrounds us and is among us today

I spent mid 80's - early 90's literally living in the bush
Would take mates in on occasion to get a Deer etc

Some would open the Tent (later Camp door) and have a piss
I would say "what the fuck are you doing"
They would say "having a piss, what does it look like"
I would say " do you do that at home"
"na mate but we are in the fucking Bush"

    There's my point !!!

Starts off drinking and driving, and just gets worse from there... Fit and proper status could be removed as a result of their own evidence.
    Glad the authorities are aware.

    Yes I know.
To put it up on Public UTube just shows how mentally deranged they are.

I have had a bullet go past me within 5-10m in same situation
    Back in 1975-ish
We never saw the idiots - think they were trowing beer cans up and shooting or something out of sight about 150m away
My mate and I who were sitting on the tailgate of Ute having a brew, we yelled out and the buggered off quick smart

    Also highlighting this is good
"maybe" something official will be done - my cynical side says not

Got the thumbs down from me.

If they just wanted to get on the piss, could of got together for a drink or two watching NZ hunter Adventures for some tips on how it is done.

I've been a witness to such behaviour at Oamaru Hut in the Kaimanawas. Two guys from Auckland arrived at the hut absolutely pissed rifles in hand. They proceeded to try cook some food, stumble around kicking their dog, and questioning me and my mates hunting ability. It was humerous at first but as dark approached they thought spotlighting with firearms would be a good idea as it was the only way to hunt sika. While they fumbled around outside I removed the bolts and threw them under there sleeping bags. They walked around the hut numerous times trying to find them and eventually gave up. They consumed more alcohol and got to a point they could hardly stand up. Me and my mate retired to bed well before they calmed down. Really put me off hunting public land for awhile. Havnt been back since and that was 5 years ago.

Booze and firearms is never a good mix.

    True that!
In fact I won’t even have a single beer if I’m off hunting in the immediate future or even in the next few hours
But then that’s just MY principle.

If he is a member of the forum why can’t he explain he’s reasons around why he needed to post a video of this nature on utube.

As Sarvo has pointed out, this type of carry on is by no means new: Early 80's a mate possuming in the Tararuas heard people coming along the track, and as he's a shy type, he headed uphill about 50m and hid behind some bushes. His dog wouldn't sit still, and the "hunters" must have picked up a bit of the movement and emptied the 10 round mag semi in his general direction. "Nah, must have been the wind" and they carried on....

He did a BIG detour to get back to the hut, picked up his gear and buggered off to the next watershed.

Whats different in the 21st C is that these 'dumb and dumber' types think its cool to stick up on YT all the evidence one needs to write them off as law breaking morons

This thread is just so disappointing, good on the OP for posting it but i still find it very disappointing !!

Last thing we need in this current world is this sort of thing !!!!

Shame on you if you think this behaviour is acceptable.
