    Haphazard Spur - Haast Block

I got this in the second chance draw after I found out that the website doesn't work on most phones and that while trying to get a block as soon as it opened while sitting on a plane ready to depart to New Caledonia that I just needed to whip out my Laptop. Anyway does anyone have any info on the block they could share as I don't really have anything to go on. Things like camp sites, landing areas, or any tips would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Cam

Last year of 474 applicants, only one party put it down as their first choice block.
2/3rds of the block is wilderness area so you have to land at the nor west end.
Block is steep as buggery and low numbers.

Yeh I figured as much looking at the area think it's going to be a bit of a brutal block especially as it follows directly on from a week in the Wanaka Ballots. Started training fitness yesterday as it's looking like 14 days straight.

Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

Fuck hope it goes better than that. I handed in my resignation a few weeks ago so am a free agent for the start of next year. It will get me fit regardless. Where did you actually get @Smiddy

@Smiddy sounds like my only time in haast roar block. Toetoe, 1 stag the whole trip.

My experience for Haast ballot last year was pretty average. Trudged through rain and and shitty bush, saw one hind, no roaring stags at all. Flew out early and chased tahr.

Was talk of a lot of heli hunting pressure, i dunno.
