Helisika want me to come in first to.sign paperwork and weigh my wife and I to make sure we are under 400kg. If I am walking in via poronui will be at 5am otherwise will be too hot which I told them so waiting to hear back. There is 4mm of rain forecast on Saturday and 3.2 on Sunday so that is also a pain in the arse

It is not just the "we" that make up the 400 kg, a couple of decent deer to fly out might mean the wife has to walk out.

Likely going high up te iringa. Hopefully I can find an an animal for the wife to see. If nothing else it is a bit more scenic than full on bush whacking

Good hunting this time of year anywhere around Te Iringa, hunt around the pepperwood belts and open ferny guts and you should see a few.

Decided to hit a lower area in Clements. Went full ninja mode and managed to get the wife to be sneaky too. Beautiful stalk through some gullies and then onto a big terrace where I saw some pepperwood moving ahead behind a log. Snuck in and got to less than 30m from a pair of spikers then sent a bullet their way. Only managed one but was stoked as found a spot for the roar and got my first deer from Clements bush.
