Help with a location to zero South Canterbury

    Hey team.
The amazing woman that is my (non hunting)wife has sneakily organised with the in-laws to look after the kids for a few days next week. She has arranged without my knowledge to take me (well me take her) on a two night hunt! I have been recuperating for the last 6 months from a head knock and subsequent concussion, so I’m chomping at the bit to get out into the hills again.
Here lies the issue. My latest project is a walnut stock for my .308. I have the rifle in pieces with the action almost completely inletted, and I was about to bed it. I can reassemble it of course but that leaves me with a non zeroed rife.

My usual range is closed for lambing for the next wee while, so I can’t go there. Does anyone have a bit of land somewhere within an hour of Timaru I could stop by for half an hour and zero the rifle? It needs to be above board, so as much as I would like to I won’t be going down the river to shoot.

I do have my .223 ready to go, but the area we are heading definitely holds reds, and I only shoot 55gn factory rounds.

Happy to give a box or bottle of wine if you can help me out!

    Cheers
