They made a joke of the sacrifices We made with bungling and incompetence beyond comprehension. The government has shown me they can’t control it so why bother complying with more petty bullshit. I won’t be.
Hmmm a tough one alright and I feel for ya, especially when they strip us of our rights and income, I'm a fan of being covid free tho and feel the wage subsity was fair. If you look at the USA, Brazil, Europe and now even Australia's management you have to give our Govt credit... although I'm not a fan of the coalition personally.

The trades are up and it has a lot to do with the returning citizens bringing there cash back to the NZ housing market and economy.

Managed isolation is never easy you give an inch they take a mile.

To protest like the USA would be a foolish move with the progress we have made although the thought certainly crossed my mind.

Life is to important and this Virus is a killer!

Good hunting all - hitting hills at first light

Important change to Alert Level 3 rules

We have been advised that for any regions at Alert Level 3 you can now hunt on both private and public conservation land. You do need to stay within your region and stick to your bubble. Overnight trips are still not allowed and you may only hunt on foot — using quad bikes, off-road bikes, helicopters and other motorised vehicles is not allowed.

Level 2 rules remain the same.

Up-to-date information on current alert levels is available at: https://covid19.govt.nz/covid-19/current-alert-level/
Hi Dyls - do you have a link?

I think you should pull your head out of your ass. This is a lot of shit for something that has a 99.6% survival rate.

Nathan F, there might be high survival rate in the numbers that you have seen, but if CV really gets going the survival rate as you term it drops to somewhere around 70%. In simple terms this is because exposure to a small dose of virus does not overcome our immune system and we fight it off. When the community infection rate builds, people get exposed to multiple and continuous doses of the virus that overwhelms them. As an example of this remember how at one end of the scale previously healthy Doctors and Nurses were dying and at the same time elderly rest home residents were also dying.
Survival and recovery does not mean unscathed even for young people

ladies, gentlefolk, a change that happened, (or at least reported) yesterday - all - Covid cases are now being held in quarantine.

wot dis meenz (What this means) - it gives the health authorities some leeway, to either not escalate the Covid lock down levels, or decrease them.

I won't try and pre empt the announcement due to happen today (noting that the current levels expire at midnight, not midday), the options in my view, could be to either increase lvls or decrease lvls.
    _____

If I were to wonder what could make the lvls decrease, a scenario like the following could be figure in my wonderings :

A group of people, some of whom, have "my social life is more important that anything, even life itself", as their raison d'être ( reason for existence ) have run around the North Island even though they were exhibiting Flu-like symptoms, contacting all manner of people, who didn't and now do, have Covid.

Authority action - lock 'em all up in quarantine - no more spread from this bunch of spreaders, who couldn't be trusted to stay at home and self isolate when they got sick.

Q: if all cases are now quarantined, do we need to stay at current levels of lockdown?
    _____

So rather than screaming about what the Authorities are, or are not doing, this is what I'm gonna do - I'm going to be happy if they prevent the spread of this virus.

Because I don't want to live in a country like Yokel-land where they have more than a thousand people dying every day, because some of them are more concerned about having parties and spreading conspiracy theories, than eradicating a virus that has the potential to decimate the human population in this planet.

Oh - and if you have Flu like symptoms - get to a doctor/clinic/hospital or similar.

Even though it might mean a stay, in a room in a hotel, think of the lives of other people, you could be saving, by not spreading the virus.

If you're convinced that you'll just be sick for a week or 10 days and then make a full recovery, well good luck, how does rolling the dice at a casino work out for ya?

Are you a millionaire from roulette?

All Covid cases are not quarantined.

    Only the known cases are.

True, so if you see someone coughing and sneezing, get them to a hospital or similar.

How do you propose we do that?

wouldn't it be better to get them to a testing facility and then isolate them in the garden shed until the results come back ?

Isolate them in a disused well or mine, if they insist on spreading the virus, in my view.
