Ya know the North supplies the South Island most of the time as we have a more diverse (hydro, thermal, wind, coal) supply of electricity. Occasionally it flows the other way.

Other way round bud. When power is flowing north to south it is constrained by network limitations in the Bunnythorpe/Woodville section. Usually only flows south when hydro dams are low. Wellington area is largest user of southern supplied power north of Cook Straight.

I don't really understand this regional hate thing - fuck off North Islanders? Or people hating on Aucklanders?
I've heard this "cut the cable" stuff for years and where does that sort of thing actually end up?

Do you think that people in the South really want to be their own nation?

Some people produce, some people consume - I know plenty of producers that look down their noses at consumers, yet they still take their cash for goods delivered

I think that this desire for separation will end up a curse on both our houses but hey, if you guys wanna secede, go for it

If so, I am curious - how would it work out? Capital in Chch?

I cant throw shit in any direction other than at OZZIE sheep shaggers.
was born up north...so interisland banter is out..
got brown blood in the genes so that banter is out....

If I'm naive but not in Auckland, can I go hunting instead?

no, its just a decision that's commensurate with the situation and will be up for review.

If your desperate to delay the election then go out and seed some new covid clusters.
