Thread: Homekill butcher Turangi area

Not sure what section to post this in.

Looking for a good butcher in Turangi area that will process whole deer.

Saw a guy close to the river with a bunch of chillers on his property, got me thinking if he is doing homekill.

Valley meats over the hill in Taumarunui do a first class job.

Thanks, spoke to Neil - prices seem reasonable thanks. Closer would still be ideal though.

Mangakino Homekill is good.
Just requires them skinned doesn't want hair everywhere.
3 km south of Whakamaru shop/garage.

Second this a bit dearer but made the best
sausages by far. And definitely no taxing of the meat
like most butchers do as a gimme.

These are all great options, thanks all, but surely there’s someone in Turangi itself?

Did the New World run the last independant butcher out of town?

Probably.. that new world is a ripoff. My mum drives to Taupo to buy from Pack n Slave

@Ned, I Almost lost it at them the one day due to foodstuffs’ stupid ID checking policy.
Was buying beer for me, wife and child with me. Wife no ID with her so they refused to sell to us. Walked out and back in alone, still refused to sell to me. Brainless policies..

Iv had this at heaps of supermarkets, more so countdown. Done the old come back in by myself and was refused incase I was buying a clearly 30 year old beer

@Chelsea, they are ageists.. I feel discriminated against.. wish I also had age privilege 😂
