Tell you what, if it looks good and you do buy it for that 650 without a reasonable scope.
I have a brand new weaver Grand slam 3x10x40 with the ballistic plex reticle still in the box for sale on her somewhere and haven't been bothered moving across to T.m
Quite happy to let a young forum member pay it off over a time and price per payment that suits both us.
Happy to send it to you for a look over and it you don't want it just send it back.
Brilliant Jakewire, this is what the forum is all about.....kudos mate
While I might not be as good as I once was, Im as good once as I ever was!

Hey mate. Don't rush in and buy your first rifle just on price. Also don't get too worried about getting it 100 percent right first time. If it turns out you like hunting, you'll buy and sell a few rifles over the next few years... Anything over .243 will cleanly kill deer, however with all calibres you need to hit the deer in the right place.
There are some great deals on trademe and we don't mind helping; if you see something you like, post on here and you'll get some good feedback. Just be carefull about believing everything you read on here. As you can see in this and other threads, either some guys have a weird sense of humor or they have no experience with the calibres they are writing about. Quite often calibres become fashionable and also some advice is based on long range shooting, you don't need to worry about that if you're just trying to shoot your first few deer.
Learning to hunt and get around the outdoors is more important than what calibre you have...

Let us know how you get on and good luck!

Most probably if and when the time comes accuracy could be vastly improved by reloading.
or it may already be a tack driver, in which case buy it.

I think it is the way you present yourself. First and foremost is the way you write. No slang, bang or bullshit. Good spelling and punctuation.
You also seem to have a level head and open to suggestions (Not like a ADHD kid let loose in a lolly shop as JS was).
People quite enjoy helping out the likes of yourself where they can
Walking around with your hand out looking for what the world owes you is not a good character builder
I think your on the right track. All the best

Good call Mikee, the ability to formulate a sentence with real words is a dying art. Josh, keep going the way you are, you will learn a lot here if you can sift out the bullshit.

If your gonna buy one you may as well buy the hole collection right Gadgetman. Are you a fan of the 110 as a starter? cheers

I bought mine as my starter, I'm still starting myself mind you. Not selling it it the foreseeable future either. The 110 is a 308 and the weather warrior underneath is a 243. Bought another 243 in left hand for my daughter @TimeRider, then I wanted a spare mag, so I bought another whole spare 243. Think I might be a fan of the Savage rifles.
