Huge psycho pig needs to die....Thames

So here it is.....220lb+ boar, has been frequenting the back of the Thames hospital, even wandering down town during the wee small hours. This has been going on for a couple of months now. He did have a smaller pig with him 'Turehu' has seen him a few times. The big fella's not scared of people or their dogs - been tearing up people's yards etc. He was hit by a hunter last week - both the bailer's are full of stitches, and only just survived having their throat's torn out. The pig had a go at the hunter too - thankfully he's quick on his feet. Anyhow - there is now a rush to get rid of this sucker, as he poses a bit of a problem being in the built up area. So anybody who want's a go at him - fair game. He frequents Irish Town, around the monument and the karaka. Surveillence cameras and traps have been put up there - but they don't grow that big from being stoopid huh. Pic's are a must

Couple of dead goats, and a blind. Someone who knows what they're doing, would sort things ....... A free for all will only end with more dead dogs and an educated pig. He will either head out when the heat comes on or has a beat sorted that he can trip dogs up with.

Bait him and shoot him before it becomes a problem.

there are a couple of hunters after him, but they're all running scared now. Sadly, where he lives is a popular walking area and fairly highly populated. Even the local highschool 'was' taking classes up there for bush walk's - they've stopped now I've told them about this piggy. There are dead birds and cats everywhere in the area, so whether someone has tried to poison him, or he's there scavenging, is anyone's guess. Just figured someone out there might like some fun, and do the town a favour as well.

I think the above is sound advice, don't want too many people yahooing around with their dogs and getting in each other's way

Be good if the forum won the rights to hunt him and interested hunters could put up their proposals for us to approve then assess their plans afterwards, would be a heap of fun sharing ideas and reflecting on success/hard luck/ high drama accounts of the hunt

he must be a scary sucker....I reckon there should be a reward for anyone who's got the balls to have a go at him. After being hit with the bailers last week, he's only only moved into the next catcment, so he doesn't really give a toss. Be an impressive trophy boy though

Fuck that...being a forum "do", I mean...it would take ten pages just sorting the calibre, barrel length and type, length and type, and who supplies the suppressor...then what breed of vehicle...what tyres would most suit town hunting...then there's the dogs...which bitch to breed to what dog...the long wait for the pups...naming the pups will take another ten pages...and the knife...another four pages...the sheath for the knife...fuck, it just goes on forever...of course 1080 would sort it out...another book length topic.
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy...I don't know and don't care.

The council should contact Albie Osbourne from tauranga city council he runs pest destruction over there and knows the correct ways of dealing with these kinds of things as he is normally called out to shoot in public areas when they have issues with large wild animals hanging around in places like you mentioned.

Yes, but what calibre should be used?...one or more of the ol'soldiers on here may want to do a bayonet charge...now that, I would pay to watch.

No wonder the pig is physcological ...have you seen the food they dish out...this poor bugger is only getting the scraps and any old meds that are tossed out.

I am actually going to be getting back into hunting the pyes pa area very soon I just need to get off my arse and ring my contact to organise a permit for the area.
