    yes cant find any mention of him having been shot just died could be quad bike it will come out no doubt sad to hear

    Did anymore come out about the bloke who was shot awhile ago in Te Urewera near Ruatahuna

    Hunting at night, on private land. With torches or thermals.
    Identify your target beyond all doubt. Sounds like he could have been shot by the possumers with spotlights. A stray shot? A person doesn't look like a possum.

    Article updated today, with the hunter who was shot named and a message from the whanau. Condolences to them, pretty rough.

    True... but, one party may have been legitimately out on private land, and who hasn't returned from a daytime deer hunt in the dark on the trip back. From the info we have so far it's doubtful the other was acting lawfully let alone responsibly.
