Great watch!
Cool valley to hunt that "Otago" block. Always enough animals in there to keep things interesting.
Loved the West Coast footage, getting footage that good of stags in the bush over there is a pretty respectable achievement. That big old 8 pointer was a mean looking coast stag.
Look forward to the rest of the series. Cheers!
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.
Missed the show but is it possible to catch up on sky go?

Great episode, well done on the stag Dave, about time the boys let you get in on the action. My grandfather shot a massive 13 pointer near there in 1923 when he was 19 that is in the Highland Stags of Otago book. Big country.
Shut up, get out & start pushing!

Hey all. Our Victorian Sambar episode airs tonight on SKY Sport 2 at 7.30pm.
Took a bit of a punt with this one, in my experience making TV for the past decade, episodes filmed overseas targeting species that aren't all that popular back home in NZ usually run the risk of being ignored by Kiwi viewers. So, with this trip, we wanted to put a NZ spin on things - doing a hard yards back pack mission into some far flung reaches of the Victorian Alps with a couple of good Kiwi mates, and I think it really paid off.
Anyway, keen to hear your thoughts on the episode in general, whether the Aussie missions hold much appeal or whether you're only interested in hunting domestically. Cheers!

Series has been Brilliant so far, you guys have done an awesome job! I've been watching the teasers online about this episode and it looks to be another cracker. I'll agree with your thoughts regarding being a viewer not to interested in other countries. Although still new to hunting, I find myself enjoying the possibility of seeing myself on these types of adventures. And to be honest our country is so beautiful why would we be interested in anywhere else.
Look forward to the spin on tonight's episode and a bit of Banter between Andre and Jamie.
Always interested to see Kiwi hunters on overseas adventures, as long as its fair chase. Variety is the spice of life as they say...
