Thread: Hunting Saturday

Hiya I am wanting to get out Saturday morning looking round the Craigie burn area on the Arthur's pass road? Do you have any suggestions where would be good in the area for a hunt? Thanks

Have a good look and make sure that the area you are looking to hunt is infact "open permit hunting area" and not conservation area only. A lot of the Craigieburn area is closed due to the amount of people that frequent the area.
Search google for the doc maps webpage and navigate your way around that to get an understanding around where you are allowed to hunt.

Go for a walk up the Poulter, I used to do well up Thompson Stream area, massive walk though so plan for a long day. Chamois in the river this time of year.
