    Im taking up knitting !!!!

Went hunting in spot x (Ureweras)....

Went for a wee walk a couple of days before xmas.... In the hope and I do mean hope of some Venny for Xmas Lunch BBQ....

Did the typical thing up at sparrows fart... hunt the river.... wind in face.......

Mates dogs winds, we slow down .... deer 150 meters away my mate stops he says we will get close dont take the shot I stop , Hind and yearling gap it!!!! Thanks for the great advice mate!

Head back to came spook about 5 /6 pheasants.....

Have a feed , chill and crash out...

Get up for late arvo dusk hunt... This time hunt up river... This time without my mate or his dog.... Wind in my face , all good.

About 30 mins from camp a noise 15 meters to my right, rifle still on shoulder as silly me thinks its another pheasant in the toi toi bush. Nope a hind thats moving at warp speed. I dont even get the rifle off my shoulder..... Fark it.

Another 30 mins paces I stop looking a head...... Then get Barked at ..... it was so loud deep booming bark and close 10 meters , I nearly shat my pants.... Do you think I could see it in the dense bush nadda. !

Walk for another 30 mins spewing at what could have been....

Be dark in another 30 mins start heading back , I get barked at must be at least 100 meters probably 200/300 meters... get to next bend may 30 meters from where I am now. Just in time to see a very small yearling butt trot into the bush....

Heading back still , head lamp on, get barked at, look up see large hind get rifle to shoulder .....Hind gone before I even shouldered rifle....

20 min from camp and small yearling crosses infront of me 100 meters in front. just able to make out yearling in the scope, standing shot ..... Missed . Fark it.

Get back to camp, re tell story to mates piss taken.... Knitting needles purchased any body know where I can get some cheap wool from?

Sounds like a hell of place Dean. How come you have never taken me there. Oh and by the way, knit one and pearl two all the wat to the end of the row.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

It would only take the Proud enjoyment away from all your work if you look in that direction.... The harder you work for it the better you feel, when you finally get one you will know what I mean....You are also doing better than me lately!

You are not doing it wrong... what your are describing is just hunting!

All my never fail spots have been hammered by 1080 in the last few years and my private properly spots have been sold so im not much help un fortunately.
