No, there is no law being prepared (as far as I know), it is my creative response to Constable McDougall and his mate who attempts to link poachers and the current Iraq conflict. The way the article presented night/thermal vision and crime gave me the impression they would be happy to see this technology regulated and restricted.

    All ours are 30Hz and 50Hz. (1hz = 1 frame per second).

50Hz PAL is the best format currently available, not withstanding ultra high frequency, cryogenically cooled MCT (HgCdTe) thermal systems, that are produced for NATO, NASA etc by SofradIR, who own ULIS, who make all the a-Si thermal sensors that our thermals are are fitted with.

    Hi Yukon,

Some of that gear might be usable in the land that I have access to. To be cheeky - what are the costs involved, or is there a website that I can check out for a wee nosey?

    Cheers,
    Kumoe.

have a look at my videos on the website, and if you have any questions, feel free.

We sold over 120 Pulsar Quantum thermals to hunters last year, so it is well proven technology.

Tasman police go hi-tech to target poachers | Stuff.co.nz
There will be more poaching now
My question is, if poaching is so dangerous to other people in the area and poachers are being regarded as people that don't follow the seven basic rules and they have the same equipment as the cops, are they just setting it up so someone is shot?
I mean if I can see you and you can see me, and the cops sitting in a position which will make it hard to identify him as a human? I know you should identify your target beyond all doubt but the media makes out these people don't.

They just need to start calling deer and sheep undersize baby snappers then you gonna see shit seized and forfeited, oh and I doubt the poachers magically appeared out in the country so we'll take your car too.!

What annoy me with that poaching thing going on, is that journalists, maybe the police and maybe the farmer skeep saying that somebody is going to get shot ( as the result of poaching). They are trying to plant aseed that does not work at the moment. Waiting for the moment that something may happen, to then say : "we had warned you that this would happen" and then probably push for more restrictive
laws or action against legit shooters/ hunters.
I could see a very upset farmer shooting a poacher or a trespasser, but I hardly imagine a (wise) poacher shooting an individual on purpose.maybe my vision of the thing is wrong? Who knows.

Other thing as well, is linking the two tragic accidental deaths of the weekend with poaching incidents of the last few months.
Or at least serving them on the same plate ,as there is nothing in common between each events. It is just journalists steering shit on the surface with out digging to deep.
