    If given the choice - centre of front shoulder. Knock out the front wheels and the beast doesnt go far at all.

    Interesting thread , some true colours appearing . Nice .

    I don't wear crocs while hunting but I have shot a stag while wearing crocs. On my boat in Fiordland and a stag wandered out onto the beach 40m away. I was wearing camo crocs, I think that's why he didn't see me in time.

    Ive always done lung shots on deer. Works for me. Lung on goats unless im using 22 hornet or 22 rf then its head shots

    I'm all about the meat harvest and mainly shoot goats at close range, so head shots for me. If there's any distance, I'll move to a shoulder shot

    I try to shoot front shoulders, less likely to run and easier target. I have done neck shots in the past successfully though.

    When the processor is paying good money for goats it’s up to $5/kg for head/ upper neck shot and $2 maybe $2:50/kg body shot so you soon learn to take head/neck shots. Same rules for venison just different money.
