Phillip, ive been hunting 8 or so years but never done bush hunting really. Hunt private land and open faces mostly. I was stoked when i finally saw some as I knew I was doing most things right.

    Great trip Rusky.
When the 2 deer departed, was the wind up your arse? If not slow down in those hot zones they may have heard something and moved a short distance on high alert.

1st time I hunted there I shot a hind within 40min of starting out as walking 100m+ from a farm fence. 2nd time not a thing on the open tops for the night.
    They are where they are

Sako, the wind was a cross wind so no chance of them sniffing me. Think they heard me more then anything. They went down hill but didn't go to investgate where exactly they went. No barks tho.

Good stuff. Bush hunting is really exciting and challenging isn't it? Get right in close, close enough to smell them - gets the blood pumping!
