Thread: Kaimanawa Forest Park

Not sure what others have garnered from this, I read it as waipakahi will be closed as a private access road unless they (hapu) want to keep it open.
It could also be the same for tree trunk, although it looks like they are doing more investigation on Tree trunk and kaimanawa rds.
Some of the speak that is used indicates to me these could be close at the whim of genesis as the easement holder.
I hope that it doesn't come to that, but it looks like waipakahi is goneburgers.

The roads under the power lines have seen a bit of traffic and some clearing scrub.
Potholes had been filled with gravel and are starting to deepen up again.

But still public access by looks of it?

Sounds like a good ride Pity it will be priced out of reach for most.

A 22km ride for $450 you're not wrong.

Between the 4wd and chopper activity it gets pretty noisy in that valley now.
