Just went for a walk off clements over the weekend. One squeal and a bit of fresh sign. Seemed all around the altitude +/-50m to what was said on here. I wouldn't mind some info re the urchin @Tahr as will be heading there in spring haha

Was in Clements on fri night/sat morning, spooked 4,all in the lower areas, lots of wind and pretty wet, funny though, none squealed at me which seemed unusual,2 I only got a quick glimpse of as they departed ,the other 2 were on the run and no chance of a shot, they weren’t hanging around but I find that a lot when hunting in the wind, the Sika seem a lot more on edge.

I was in the Waipakihi a week ago for a couple of days. Saw 3 hinds bush stalking, all at about 1100m.

Yeah, it’s pretty cold for them down towards the river this time of the year.
