Quite a few in the Te Puke bushes and shrubs

Now @Gibo what are you doing in the early hours hiding out in the shrubs and bush in Te Puke

I saw 7 kiwi during the daytime while tramping on Stewart Island. The noise they make at night is horrendous!
I have heard one at night in the Whareorino forest in the King Country.

Here’s the yelp call it’s the last one there on the right with sounds, calls at night Westland.

To be fair, you do hear a lot of interesting bird noises in the bush at night and I couldn't swear I haven't heard kiwi...

Year @Bagheera there was a good number of deer in their too!
