Thanks Savage I've sent you a pm.
Up the west is the best in my experience, the other side is right on the blocks boundary. Come out the hut door and scurry around the steep part on the west side to head south while staying out of the river, then up that spur to the tops. As per the blue line.

Good bench’s right up the eastern side, particularly in the red area.

Used to see a few wallows just north of the red marked area down by the river.

Yeah mate , sounds like its still pretty much booked up for the roar period . We had a party camping up stream from us a couple hrs walk as well.
The river is easy walking but some deep pools that are bit deceiving with the water so clear.
We got onto stags fairly close to the hut and got within 20 mtrs or so of a couple but still couldn't see them before they twigged us.
I see your location is listed as Perth, i was living there too when we flew into Korohi biv. i've know idea what the deer population is like in there nowdays but i would say probably more deer then 2016, just need a bit oF luck LOL

Was the block with helisika when you flew in 30late ? My understanding they are now privatley booked so shouldn't have any other hunters in there ? I havnt kept up to date with the politics of these blocks.

Thanks heaps savage1 I will definitely go and check out that area and could be a good spot to put the trail camera up.

I'm pretty sure I was in the group before you, there was nothing roaring when we were there that time but a mate shot a stag by waiting at a wallow.

Thats hardcase mate haha, that map you put up is spot on. I went up that ridge marked with the blue line and got on to a stag in the head of the gully to the left, Korohi creek but he shut up and got onto another one roaring well in that area marked with the red circle. he sounded like he was only 10 mtrs away but couldn't see him until he vanished without a sound or sight of the sneaky little bugger!!!

Your testing my memory now mate haha, i know there was a gas cooker with a large gas bottle in the hut , cant remember if there was pots and pans etc but i would take cooking stuff and a jetboil type cooker as well.
Should be something on Helisika website about what is supplied in the hut.
Hope you have a good trip mate, just need some good weather and a bit of luck. The hut doesn't get much sun so could be cold if ya get a frost, especially if you are used to Perth weather !
