I was waiting for that from you Nigel no mates .

Out of my region, and over 70. I won't be going anywhere.

You can join me on my next public land Tahr hunt though if you want. If you can keep up

If people can't grizzle on here to vent after a month of being hut-bound, where can they?? I suspect high horses are potentially more dangerous than hunting at the moment

Dangerous maybe, but I get a better view from up here.

tbh I'm not a roar hunter - more a meat hunter. And not a duckshooter either.

But this government clearly has double standards, and struggles to keep their story straight.

Heard today Cindy say Doc tracks are closed to trampers etc. Not sure how that works so I'm assuming they mean you can hike the council tracks maybe. I don't think they know to be fair.

"Policy on the hoof" methinks, no thought about the consequences of what they are / have been saying until they have said it and someone asks for clarification.

ie we know that's what we said but what we actually meant was............................................... .............

Thats the problem, eh. They are better at reacting and retracting than they are at developing good strategy (although I must say that they seem to be doing ok at containing this bug thing).

We are questioning decisions which appear to be made based on ideological bias. ie this government are anti gun and thus anti hunting.

Hunters are told they cannot hunt due to the risk of emergency callouts. Nothing to do with guns, just emergency callouts and breaking of bubbles.

In the same breath mountain bikers who not only are statistically riskier AND have already had emergency callouts are left alone. To the extent the Minster of Health himself participated in mountain biking during the level 4 lockdown.

If we don't ask why the same logic is not applied across activities, how far down the Alert levels will they keep blocking hunters?
They’ll keep blocking hunters from going for as long as possible....

You can go hunting when you've proven to us you've got rid of all your rubber kong "toys".

Every roar, every opening morning, every day is something we'll never get back eh. I can only recommend anyone who's not an NZDA member to use this time to sign up. They're the ones who're putting their money where their mouth is and going in to bat for us all. We can come out of this organised or biting each others necks, our choice.

I think everyone needs a chill pill , getting on top of the virus is more important than getting out for a hunt at the moment , lot more at stake here for a lot of peoples lives , like jobs /businesses that are dead in the water and lack of cash to pay the bills etc.
The hills aren't going away , yes we have all missed a roar , but heck that's better than loosing a family member or friend .
Personally I am looking forward to some good spring hunting now and hopefully this shit storm is sorted by then .
