    Marlborough Sounds
Pelorus Sounds - boat access only (no road) is the only place in NZ that has not climbed in price since the 2007 boom cap
They have started to move since CV19 - but all places I know that have sold or trying to sell have still not reached 2007 levels - not by a long shot !!

If you can handle using a boat and the cost involved in owning one - then this is by far still the best bang for buck
Reason not like it was price wise.
    Women
Cant just hop in the car and go to a Cafe or meeting with the gals etc
So if your lady is not in that echelon - in the outer Pelorus be a good place to look.

Hiya Sarvo, have looked with interest up that way...some of the bays are just magnificent. No gals for me anymore...I want a peaceful retirement thanks Just not sure about boat only access but really appreciate your advice.

look around ikimatua greymouth, hokitika rural....plenty of funky wee small holdings out there.
Find the bunker crowd to be hilarious...ploughing all that money into a big house, security and compound they will probably never use... even in a doomsday scenario it would be useless, a bit like putting a sign up outside saying *THE GOOD SHIT IS IN HERE*

Got to love the NZ govt, no work visa unless you have a PhD, 20 years trade experience, etc.

How about being a millionaire/billionaire that got rich on gutting a company and sending all the local jobs to China? Come right in, here is your citizenship.

Good luck to the OP in finding their slice of heaven, I can't see myself having the money to own property anywhere on earth at the moment, maybe in 30 years time if I'm lucky!

But AR's are no more in our slice of paradise. Probably be more like some meth trashed feral who got there before you.
Any sizable bunker couldn't be kept secret. The locals are super aware of who's doing what to who down that way.
