    Lost torch

I think my brand spanking torch fell out of my dump bag when we were loading up the wagon in the dark last night.... was a fairly long day.

Anyway if anyone finds a shiny new LED Lenser torch and case at a certain forestry road end in the NW Arogani's then I'd be grateful for a PM.

Yeah, that gutting feeling as you unpack stuff, check for it 3 times, then empty the car with that empty feeling in the back of your mind.... Oh well it will be a nice find for someone

That wasn't a very bright thing to do

Thought I had lost the bolt for my Sako. Turned the hut inside out a few times. Gearbags, daybag, pack everything got pulled apart with more fury as the hour went by.
Dropped the pack on the hut porch and heard a thud

I was lucky when I lost the Mag off my .223 Ruger. I had sold it, it was pending paying for and pickup.
So I went out for a last blast at some possums, got out of the ute, clipped in the mag, took the shot at the possum, reload new round, went to take a second shot and nothing.
Quick fumble for mag, NO mag, WTF, hunted around for 1/4 hour to find it, it had fallen out and landed in the door console.
I had used the open windowed door as a rest and when I reloaded, the mag catch wasn't Clicked in proper and when the pressure was released on the bolt the mag dropped into the door console.

My camera case slipped off the waist belt of my pack as I was putting it into the wagon after a hunt one day. Drove off and it wasn't until I got home I realised the camera was missing. Went back the next day and found the camera lying there with a big Hancock MT track right over the top of it. Amazingly it still works.

lost my puma knife on Stewart Island. Area I lost it was about 4km from the hut.
Went back two years later and found it.
Lost Leupold Scope while hunting Martins Bay area about 20 years ago but never found it.
I guess sometimes you just get lucky.

Bob, there just has to be a yarn about how you lost only a scope while hunting?

    No it was for real.
I had a H&K semi auto with Leopold mounted using genuine H&K QD mount. The mount has a single over centre cramming lever but no way of locking it down.
I was carrying it on my back in thick bush and think a vine/branch got hooked on the lever and released it.
Only noticed it missing when I got to a good hunting area.
Back tracked as best I could but there was a lot of crown ferns so would have been very lucky to find it.
When I told H&K what happened (was seeking solution to prevent reoccurrence) they "GAVE" me a new mount at N/C.
On the new mount I drilled a small hole in the lever and lock wired it closed.

Once again I question the need for a quick release scope.
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
