Haven't butchered it yet I skinned it out yesterday and put it in chiller. I had washed the knife before skinning it. I may go out and get some photos of it in the chiller if I get a chance over the weekend

We experienced a similar thing on a nanny tahr last year. When cutting it up there was pus in the right shoulder area. We did a good autopsy and found nothing else wrong or suspicious so the meat from the back end and back straps was kept. I believe the animal had experienced a fall and was well on the way to a good recovery. Not nice to see but quite different to human pus. Looked more like runny custard. I wasn't about to try it on my desert though.
Yip sounds the same
I shot a young hind about two years ago that had a similar thing but it was on her back leg, neck shot her so took the whole front end plus backsteaks and the back wheel from the good side, for some reason though she tasted bloody terrible, I had a fair old slog out of where I shot her with the meat and my gear so my pride wouldn't let me throw any of the meat out, made a few stews and curry type meals from her but the terrible taste still came through, didn't seem to get sick but still got a few vacuum packs from that deer in the freezer haha, should probably give it to the dog.
if you are not 100% sure about the meat dont eat at.its hard to know what caused stuff like that and it is easyr to hunt when your well
Ryan - nup, don't throw it to the dogs... you give it to those people you meet from time to time who expect you to give them - professional couch potatoes - your hard-earned game meat. You know the ones... the friend of a friend you meet at a BBQ who feels you should give up 20kg of prime venison because he really likes it and hasn't been given any for years, but is too bloody lazy to get off his sorry ass and go get his own. THAT is the best way to dispose of meat you don't want.
Put it this way, if it wouldn't pass a Govt meat inspection, then it shouldn't pass yours. Biff it
"ars longa, vita brevis"
Didn't this little bugger have his eye popped out as well
Iv been shearing sheep for 24 years i don't eat mutton pies
Managed to get out there today. This is what it looked like without the pus. Looking at it today think it may be going to the bin. Everything else looks good just not worth the risk
Lucky the 223 was sighted in good enough for "any where in the eye" huh
