    Makahu saddle hut advice

I am going to the makahu saddle hut tomorrow with a mate. I have been to middle hill with no success.

I see there is a slip near the road end. We were going to check that out.

Anyone had much luck there or have thoughts on better places to go?

    Cheers.

Its a good forecast tomorrow with very light winds even right at the top of the range, id climb at least halfway up any of the spurs that head to the main range, watch any of the open areas above the bush line, clan pans, shingle slips with growth on them, Sika like eating Tutu and flax. They should be out and about in the sun after all the shit that is passing thru currently.

I saw a massive hind in the carpark there about a month ago.
My 8yr old kids have seen deer there. If you don't you should give up.
Call me when you get out.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

I’ve seen numerous deer between the middle hill carpark and the bridge on the track to middle hill hut.

Shit man. Forgot to call you. We ended up seeing 3 deer and a fawn. But I didn't have my range finder at the time.

Yeah there's a big paddock near the thick crap I recall. I always thought that was private land.

Did you see them in the thick stuff?
