It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Im 52, been going in the hills since I was 13. Get into the backcountry most weekends, and if not for weekend , day trips. lucky to live in a place where I can walk straight out my door into the hills. Mostly solo trips , happy with my own company. Observe lots animals and only take meat for freezer when needed.Young guys round here want to know my Spot X's but they're to lazy walk.
LOL thats impressive since they dont have a high school!!!but i hear what your saying uncle!
Ahhh 93 you are harsh ...no to all other questions !
43 and came to hunting more recently but get out regularly. Enjoy the walk and the bush, more a meat hunter than a trophy guy. AFW - Another farkin Wellingtonian
52 and been trapping and hunting since primary school. Fit enough to chase tahr on your west coast. Decided at 40 I would try and hunt NZ every yr until my knees give up on me. Full timer farmer who because of 2 disaster harvests has now to work of farm to make ends meet. A meat hunter at heart but do chase a few trophy heads. Nothing better than bringing home fresh wind shot veni even if I have to give it away. Have 3 girls and a boy 23, 21 18(m), 16. 21 and 16 daughters love to hunt with the old man, my boy only hunts girls and football. Am bring my 21 yr daughter to NZ for her birthday present in Sept. Hoping to find a pig hunter to take us out while we are there to catch a pig, something she won't forget in a hurry.
Used to reguarly put hocks in mates letter box or just thrown on lawn, he moved and is no longer between chiller and base

HAHAHHAHA yeah he was always a bit slack....unless going to the Cook Saddle lol
He is definitely a tired bugger. You even had to steer him onto a salmon with his own boat iirc!!!
Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.
Middle aged??.... I still think I am young until I look in the mirror and see the bald guy looking back
I grew up on a farm and guns were just part of it, pest control was all part of it, My father used to take the 3 kids out on the old SL100 Honda after rabbits often, then it was up to the boys...and its an art spotlighting rabbits with open sites and an old BSA slug gun, My uncle sold his farm up here and got one in on the upper end of the Whanganui river and that gave us a hole new hunting area and a great supply of goats to shoot with the odd deer and pig running around
Still most of my deer hunting has been on DOC land but I do also have easy meat spots for freezer fillers
Now I love taking the kids out or getting others in to it....but I still love to drop animals and I hope to be out there doing it for many years yet...still lots of the South Island I have not hunted on
Fishing ... Hunting its all good
Yup I'm in this bracket, Middle fifties. Been hunting most of my life. Started out mainly pig hunting with my own dogs, did pretty good with getting pork most weekends. Sold, exchanged and pawned off the dogs when my son was born as I didn't have the time to put into them. Just stayed hunting deer for meat and profit. It was great when he became old enough to join me on the deer and pigs as I still had access to a very good pack of hounds. Love it when I get a deer out of the bush by myself and he replies How did you do that. At 6'5 and solid he's always been the pack animal, so ocasionaly it's good to show the young gun's that we old fart's can still do it. Beat him the other day on a 45 minute run by 2 minutes, a case of the Hare and Turtosie. I will never do that run with him again, as it will always be in his head that the old bastard beat me. LOL
