    Im not interested in making a kill any more drawn out than it needs to be.
    I like it when I walk over to cut the throat and the thing is allready dead, not struggling to its feet

    maybe Im just different but can and should are two different things.

    AH, yes, you have me there, well done.

    I never considered those alternatives, probably because the OP was reporting on killing a horse and apart from the so called "Kaimanawana" dobbins, the mad/injured/escaped options seemed a bit remote..........but I am often remote as I age :>)
    .
