    Molesworth Roar 2020 road closure

Hey team, as you know the roar is fast approaching and I bet you all can’t wait to get into it. I’ve drawn a ballot for the Molesworth and just recieved the dreaded email today that the road is going to remain closed during the roar period so no vehicles are allowed access. Has this stuffed anyone else’s trip up or is it just me? Haha

Stuffed up my work colleague he biked in last weekend. I live next to Molesworth so of course its a pain in the proverbial.

The Edwards track is also still closed due to the fire risk

I’ve got the five mile block. It’s my first time in the molesworth so keen to hear if anyone has hunted the block before and had any success. Also if there is a camp spot out near the road? Cheers

Only been in Five Mile/Yarra area goose shooting but there were deer sighted most days (separate trips). There's reasonable camping-sites near the road up the 5 mile stream track and also, possibly better, up the track which goes up/over to the Yarra hut. Used to be a few animals moving between 5 Mile /Leader Dale over the saddle and saw animals from Yarra saddle to hut and going up to Alma saddle. A few years ago but probably still the same.
