I know its a huge cost, we felt the same, but as the years progressed we decided it was well worth trying to keep your mobility and quality of life - sadly i think we might have left it too long for big results.

WRT fundraising - one of my wifes MS friends managed to fundraise the whole lot (she did her HSCT in Mexico) but she had friends that knew personalities etc so managed to do some good auctions and evenings. We managed $40k and that was with a few cake bakes, give-a-little page (with a couple of very generous contributors giving $15k alone) and some cinema and raffle events. There are a lot of generous people out there!

If you do decide to go for it, post here and i'm sure these good guys will help, and having first hand experience of MS i'll be one of the first! Good luck!
