There’s an article in today’s Otago Daily Times on this ‘revised plan’. (Page 21)

and in todays Herald .... https://www.nzherald.co.nz/the-count...ectid=12361471

The Department of Conservation has released its "reconsidered" tahr control operation plan for 2020 and 2021 but is warning it will not satisfy everyone.

Cant see they've changed anything, let alone their intent to exterminate..... oh sorry that should say "In the national parks we are legally required to reduce the number of tahr to the lowest practicable densities "

Reading between the lines it seems DOC expects hunters to tell them where the biggest deer numbers are??

They have to be dreaming if they expect me to tell them where deer are in any numbers. DOC and the Greens track record is beyond belief.
Funny how people who have been in this country probably less than half the time deer etc have been here get to decide they should be destroyed, it's nothing short of criminal.
I for one would rather hear a stag roar or see deer roaming our hills than all the birds and plants that these so called conservationists seem to think need preserving.
These plants and birds will evolve around the introduced species as they did when animal numbers were well and truly out of control.
Management is the key NOT eradication.

And we know how well the engagement with stakeholders went for tahr don't we?

It will just be a futile box ticking exercise to say they have done it. Then they will just do what they want.

Don't for one second imagine they'll not include Chamois in their extremist attack on our traditions as hunters.
