Thread: Motueka or Nelson Hunting

Hi all,

Recently starting hunting around Motueka with my new crossbow, however the places I go are pretty hard going regarding steep tracks etc.
My father in law is coming in 2 weeks and I would like to take for a hunt with me however the places I go will be too difficult for him to handle. I was wondering if any one knows of any places near Motueka or Nelson where I can take for my father in law for a hunt where the tertian is not too difficult or steep. Even places where we there are small populations of animals is fine as long there is a slim chance of getting something (eg. deer, pig, goat or hares). Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have hunted around Mot for years and at the moment with all the 1080 that has been dropped Im pretty well buggered for anywhere local to hunt on D.O.C land and its an area thats pretty well stiched up as far as private land for hunting goes. I haven`t shot a deer for months wich is pretty unusual.
