Dont bet on it. I am not small. Admittedly I do not let it slow me down aand I walk a lot but I carry spare. Even since my childhood, I have never bee thin, but I walk to the top and I have never been in a chopper.

I don't know why this gets people so upset? Business is business. That client is not exploiting this country, it's people or its resources. A few of those stags a year keeps that 'chubby' guides' family fed and warm. Would I? Never. Would I begrudge someone who chooses to pay to shoot on private land? Never.

You are dead right, its pure business .
Worked on a special estate where we had a few high profile clients and on the level where they are playing you have to deliver.
You can't say that you can not do something else they find someone else who can and you loose out on some serious money.

Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

While it is not something I would ever have the money or desire to do, NZ is quite a bit cheaper than the same offerings overseas. And some of the prices for those animals are closer to $250k than $50k. And they dont stay in a tent either......

If Foreign tourists want to pay to hunt on someones deer farm why should we worry, at least it keeps them off our free DOC land.

Yeah good on them both, if youd pay for a meat animal (not everyone) why not pay for a trophy if you can afford it. May aswell take advantage of that opportunity (the guide)

I get stuff all free time at the moment. I was thinking on a guided hunt to save the job of getting to know a patch of public land and monitor it. When I saw the fee's I realised it would be cheaper and the same level of challenge to pay my neighbour for one of his deer and blow it away from the comfort of my own deck. Somehow I just cant bring myself to do this.
