That is for TB right? Exactly what the 1080 has been sown to get rid of?

6 months is usually the stand down period following a drop Red. Unofficially you would probably be safe eating the meat off an animal that was running round happily post poison, if you managed to shoot one. Just don't eat the green baits or scrounge the organs off a dead carcass...

Good basic checks for tb etc but not sure they apply or are useful for seeing if animal has had a sub lethal dose of 1080.

I doubt it, 1080 poisons the liver and has nothing to do with the immune system...

the old bugger on there was just referring in infection in general that if there is pus in the lymphnode that the animal is ill and most likely no suitable to be eating, thats what i understood from the vid i dont think he reffered to any one illness. totally agree if running around after a drop it should be fine.

    I didn't watch it sorry
I also suspect even if a deer has had a sub-lethal dose the meat might be okay. I think it takes more actual poison to kill a person than a deer....

1080 is shit stuff, should be banned but when it comes to deer its not always the end of the world in a area.
Im hunting a area thats been 1080 5 weeks after they dropped it.
Its had heaps of rain and all pellets are now long gone.
I saw 7 deer in the first trip in there, thers still not bad numbers there and i have no doubt what soever if they still running around after a couple or so weeks after a drop they be fine to eat .
Deer dont take to 1080 well, a small dose will knock they over, worst then dogs.
So if you wait 3 or so weeks, esp let a few rains go by hunt the area and see whats there.
If a deers still running around(quite likely in high ares) it be fine as it would have fallen over long ago if its had any 1080 in it,
