    North Tikotatahi hunting block

Anyone been to North Tikotatahi hunting block recently? Keen to hear how you went. I have got it booked March 2021. Cheers.

Have hunted it but not for a long time so I can't advise on numbers currently

But its a rough little block and its a huge advantage to have a small boat to get back into it
The animals were all very close to the coastline
Plenty of cunning ones just around the camp
Reasonable diving and fishing handy to the shelter
The sea is usually pretty calm to to the break sea islands

We had the south block at the same time and it was a slightly better area to hunt just due to the geography
But there will be deer there somewhere and they are all trophies

Ive been there about 4 years ago, my first trip to Stewy.

I shot 2 yearlings, one 100 yards from the hut and the 2nd 380 yards from the hut.

Even thou i tried baiting with broadleaf and sitting and watching, i had no joy doing that. Both deer i shot were while stalking very very slowly.

    Both good blocks
    Agree with the boat comments
Slow stalk...but the wind can be tricky
    Reasonable hut.
A good 6 point buck was taken last time
Hut all weather not just the "good" days
