    Northland pukete/ omahuta forest

    Has anybody hunted in pukete/ omahuta forest in the far north region? Its managed by DOC but was wondering if anyone has had much success in this area??. looking at some local areas to put some meat in the freezer. cheers

    Had a good wander around a couple of years ago. Nothing to be seen. Signs up saying goat cullers had been working the area. I wouldn't go there with high hopes, but you never know.

    Extremely fast and smart pigs that give the best of dogs problems catching them. There is the odd goat around but its a jungle in there pretty hard to stalk.
