Off to Mangmuka Hut for the NYE hunt.

Heading into mangamuka hut in a few hours for a NYE overnight hunt. Is anyone else heading in. Or am I likely to have the hut to myself.

Get out to a few spots for a stalk and see how I get on.

    Anti social isn't he.

Well I went up that general direction yesterday. Hunted from 7am to 6pm. Windy in most places. Tried all the tricks in the book but only found fresh sign in one place. Majority of Deer aren't there in Summer and migrate to farm fringes and slips. I've tried several summers now and still havent spotted or spooked any deer in the Kaimais so that will be the last summer exercise trying to find them.

I did part of the Ngamuwahine loop track with my girlfriend and I saw nothing. Some prints in the clay road near the paddocks but no poo. I have spooked deer around the hut in summer.
