    Two years off 60, and still hunt Motu, Waioeka - although those hills are getting steeper every year. Gotta thank my mate and son for rekindling my deerstalking interests. Some awesome times.......................Got a spiker two weekends ago, and back in next Wednesday for three days - yeehah.

    It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
    What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
    Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded

    Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
    Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
    Rule 5: Check your firing zone

    Shit. When I was in hospital I had 2 old guys as my room mates. One of them for that reason. A deer farmer and bike rolled on him.

    Hi guys i dont go on here much,but at 58,only been hunting 6yrs,shouldve have been hunting 45yrs ago.Iv shot a few deer,roos.Till do a few 15k walks each yr around the hills only,not the bloody mountains.Meet some good buggers on the forums and had a good time.

    Hey, that makes me feel better. I'm 48 (hardly feel a day over 95) and only picked up a gun 2.5 years ago. I too should have done so many years ago. Think I'll be sticking to the hills, and slightly dubious about that till I get a PLB. I have a lot of experience in the outdoors but not as strong and fit as I used to be. Body is down right dodgy to be honest, but I still like getting out there doing stuff.

    See I always knew those elusive buggers were still in Fiordland. Welcome to the forum alcesgigas. Toby, they are bigger than horses. I bloody near hit a large female going into Canada from the states in 2001.
